I have this started as of February 9, 2018. Since then, I was looking for yarn to complement the Universal Yarn Wisdom Yarns Naked Sock yarn I had from my stash. I finally found it, and on sale, at JOANN Fabric and Craft Store: Premier Yarns Deborah Norville Collection Serenity Sock Weight. I bought four skeins to match the quantity of Naked Sock I had on hand. After that I started searching for a pattern. I thought I had one selected in Wrap Flower Power by Martina Paulsen, but I was missing the required needle size. Thanks to my Foxy Knits connection, I was able to order the needles without problem.
Somehow I forgot I had selected a pattern and then there was some confusion with the project name. Remembering that I had wanted to develop my half-circle/crescent shaped shawl, I started crocheting with the yarn and that’s how the stitch method and pattern got changed.
Not impressed. Expected marketplace four times the size with four times as many knitters. Nothing but yarn! Would recommend a question/answer and/or tips/tricks booth and more patterns. A separate event room – no matter how small – would have added the missing class that I have come to associate with the word VOGUE.
I wish I had run into more people with whom I am acquainted, but hightlights included Fred, Merilyn, some Sand and Sea gals, Dagny. I even gave a friendly wave in return to Bruce’s acknowledgement of me.
Of course, I had to memorialize the occasion with a purchase:
Gonna take kitting to the wood and get all foresty with it all.
Seriously, one of my dearest friends – not only because she is one of my suppliers – was vending so I made this purchase to support her and to thank you for her continued kindness to me. Foxy Knits is her business for needles, Koigu yarns and other stuff. These two colors caught my eye – second to white with another solid – and I think they compliment each other and will create a nice autumn shawl.
Two vendors were especially nice and pointed me in the direction of some crescent shawl patterns, recommending Cobh.
Hold d’ line! I just found the perfect pattern – Golden Snitch Shawl – with the exact stitch pattern I am looking to incorporate, and the correct stitch orientation I have been seeking – the diagonal stripes.
