Two Seasons, Too Late

December 2009-February 2010

The Name

At the time I am writing this – eight years later – I think it had to do something with the fact that I sent her this xmas gift at the end of winter.

The Scarf

Pattern: Granny Rectangle Scarf by Unknown

I made this scarf for my friend Terriyaki Says, who lives in Florida. I think this may have been the first scarf I made and having learned the technique, I just crocheted in pattern until I though it was scarf wideness. As for length, perhaps I went a bit too far. I have learned, since then, that the general guideline is that a persons wingspan equals the a person’s height.

Designer Notes

I have since learned that I must make an adjustment when making this pattern: the outer rounds need to be taken into account for the final project dimensions. I think I would crochet a round of granny square, measure the height of my double crochets and then use that to shorten my beginning chain.
