Last Saturday, I had the opportunity to go to The Slipt Stitch, which is going out of business. The fact that they are going out of business and I had extra money laying around was not a good combination for this fiber artist that already has so much yarn, I doubt I will ever be able to use it all during my lifetime. Throwing caution to the wind, I went anyway.
I found three hanks of Araucania Patagonia Nature Cotton in this pretty green. Today I found the pattern to use for this yarn: GAP-tastic Cowl by Jen Geigley. It has taken a while, but I am learning to be more organized, which helps when buying yarn…I think.
Some of the girls that I had lunched with had wandered over there as well: Barbara and Cherylynn. Barbara is always cold, evidenced by freezing hands at the restaurant. I asked her why she does not knit herself some mittens or gloves and she had no answer. While I was admiring – what I thought was a shawl – a kerchief at the store, Patricia told me she had the pattern (Cozy Striped Kerchief) and it only required two skeins of Patons Canadiana. It struck me that this would make a nice Xmas gift for Barbara, so I bought the two skeins the pattern calls for as well.
