(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman by Aretha Franklin
In honer of Ms. Aretha Franklin, who died today. I discovered, per a burn test, that the ribbon I had used was braided from natural fibers. So, I thought, natural fiber, natural woman!
I actually started this yesterday, during which time the news had reported Aretha was ill, the next day(?) she had been moved to hospice, and today announced her death.
Dimensions: approximately 72-inch length x 4-5 inch width
I used huge unidentified needles so the project would go faster. I notice some crinkling of the ribbon, which is kind of inattractive, but I am not redoing, frogging, tinking, at all. To me, it looks sloppy. I still have some ribbon…maybe another on smaller needles?
Content: Natural Fiber, per burn test
Color: Unknown [Off-White+]
Things in my stash keep popping up…like this ribbon! God, this ribbon is so annoying because it is so slippery it won’t even knot on itself. As such, I had to secure the ends with needle and thread.
Also, as ribbon comes off a spool, it twists very badly. I have learned to knit right through the twisgin, as the stitches relax, the ribbon untwists.
I only have a very little bit left after I used the same ribbon to make Get Off Of My Cloud. I will donate to the guild raffle.
