Gypsy Woman: Work In Progress

Having located my wool rug yarn when I found my acrylic rug yarn, I decided to make another felted bag. Wow! This stuff is super bulky, with a burlap-like texture that feels like a welcome mat. So bad that spit-joins don’t hold securely!

I also happened across a yarn I had recently purchased during the 2018 Los Angeles Yarn Crawl to support a local store; it turned out to be wool and required the same needle size. The last yarn was a light blue, braid yarn, similar to Wollhaus, but more crusty – most likely from age and smoke, as the person who gave it to me is a smoker; a burn test revealed it to be a natural fiber (wool?) also.

My plan is to create the fabric, the bag and then felt it! As I am a bit of a novice when it comes to felting, I am bit excited. Final destination of this bag also remains undetermined: charity, gift or me?
