The Name

Hello Stranger by Barbara Lewis

I loved this song as a kid, the first time I heard it. Took a few years before I find out it was Barbara Lewis who sang it. What a lovely surprise that it should pop up for the name of this shawl.

Hello Stranger

The Shawl

Destination: Interval House
Dimensions: 19-inch depth x 38-inch wingspan

This is an original shawl of my own design. I started with stockinette up to a 30-stitch count. Then I worked in seed stitch to a 60-stitch count. Then stockinette up to a 90-stitch count. Next was feather and fan to the last of the yarn, ending with a stretchy bind-off. All of this on a US 6 needle.

The Yarn

Unknown man-made/natural fiber blend with a squishiness that I like. I think it was a total of about 150 grams – 3 50-gram balls – as there where two tie connections in the big ol’ ball with which I was presented.
