This afghan represents my acquired knowledge of how to perform entrelac crochet in the round. I found this stitch easy and fun to do, but one must keep track of one’s stitch count, as I got too comfortable twice and two of the square are actually bigger than they are supposed to be. I was not a fan of the continuous method, switching between yarns, as a ridge is created on the back side. In the future, I will just cut the yarn and sew in the ends.
The project name – Mirror In The Bathroom by The English Beat – is representative of my ska period and in honor of one of my most favorite ska bands.

Having crocheted Sunflower Cocoon/Hat (picture link only), I thought it would be neat to knit one. Thanks to SarahBea for lending me some 10.5 US circulars. Going by the dimensions of the Sunflower, I was surprised that this one came out two inches wider. It is shorter by one inch because I ran out of Barrington.
German Cast on 53 stitches on each of two 10.5 circular needles
Knit all for 17 inches
Row 1: K2TOG at beginning and middle of each needle
Alt Row: Knit All
*My decrease measures 5 inches. I think I decreased from 53 stitches to 29 stitches.
I closed my cocoon with the Kitchener Stitch.

I am pretty sure I was gifted six skeins of this yarn by tinsellybee. After completing Bubbe Sings the Blues, I was anxious to start a new shawl with this yarn. Close up, the tinsel is a bit distracting, but from a galloping horse view, not so much. It took me a minute to get the pattern down by memory, and thankfully the frogging was not to bad, considering it was double-stranded.
