Does Anybody Really Know What Time It Is?

“Does anybody really know what time it is?
“Does anybody really care?
“If so, I can’t imagine why.
“We’ve all got time enough to die.

Birdhouse In Your Soul

I’m your only friend
I’m not your only friend
But I’m a little glowing friend
But really I’m not actually your friend
But I am”

Little L

The Name

Little L by Jamiroquai

Random match.

The Cowl

Dimensions: 14.5 (D) X 14 (H) inches
Destination: Charity

This was supposed to be in my bar-front-loop stitch until I realized I was working in the round and therefore never seeing the back there the bar is…doh! Okay, so what is the fabric I am making…stockinette!? Then realize waistcoat stitch, but with a twist, and with my hyperflexed(?) wrist!?

LOVE the dense cushy fabric, softness of yarn and colors!

The Yarn

All Unknown, presumably acrylics. They were all little oddballs placed in a bag together; I picked up the bag from the meeting last month. Worsted to Aran weights, with an H-hook.

Tainted Love/Where Did Our Love Go?

The Name

Tainted Love/Where Did Our Love Go? by Soft Cell

I don’t know why I didn’t think of this before, but I have a two name song for two similar projects.

The Preemie Skullies

Size: Preemie, based on 3-3.5 inch circumference

The skully on the left was constructed using the third back loop hdc or ribhdc. I do like the way this one looks but I think it needed to be taller. I was questioning if hat height equals crown to brim or last increase round to brim? Now I know: a quick reread clarified the issue for me: last increase round to brim!

The Yarns

All unlabeled scraps from CSNanaCat, which means acrylic, and the weight was worsted.

I Shall Believe

The Name

I Shall Believe by Sheryl Crow

This is an appropriate name for a hat I improvised the design. I shall believe that I will figure this out.

I Shall Believe

The Beanie

Size: 0-3 months
Destination: Charity

42_small_best_fitI was going for something similar to the one pictured at right. I think my primary mistake was building the crown in double crochet; I feel like maybe I should’ve used Half double crochet. This hat has a weird fit.

While my hat does measure 6-inches high with a rounded crown, I am going to classify the size as 0-3 months based on How to Size Crochet Beanies + Chart by Heart Hook Home.

I Shall Believe

The Yarn

The yarn for this project is unknown. I had the same yarn on two different cones with different information. Because it was so thin and I wanted to rid myself of it, I double stranded.

Hole In My Life

The Name

Hole In My Life by The Police

Random song title from my music library.

Hole In My Life

The Skully

Dimensions: 3 year old (modified)
Destination: Charity
Pattern: Hat with Bow by Tracie Faulkenberry

Pressed flat, the beanie dome is visible and dominant; however, a little fluffing will reveal a pillbox flavor. I could not try on to see how it lies on the head, but I am not liking the harsh stitch difference. If you are noticing “worms” in the crochet fabric, that is on me; it never occurred to me that hiding my tails behind the front post double crochets would have looked much nicer.
