A Bushel And A Peck because I had to “peck” and choose amongst the remnants, trying to match in to one ball of all the same weight yarn.

A Bushel And A Peck Scarf

Dimensions: 80-inch (L) x 3-5-inch (W)
Construction: 11 stitchses in a 1 x 1 Rib

I tied a bunch of yarn remnants together to create a magic ball and this was the first half of the ball.

Yarn

I have no idea.

Stairway To Heaven: Highway To Hell

It’s official…I’ve left the Stairway To Heaven for the Highway To Hell.

I embarked last night while creating a magic ball from the last of the yarn remnants from the raffle basket, gifted to me by Rosa at the 2018 June El Segundo Slipt Stitchers guild meeting. While creating the ball one of the yarn remnants had a glitter yarn! This was my opportunity to separate the glitter yarns I had acquired, and coincidentally, the thicker glitter yarn I had less of, I was able to incorporate into the magic ball.

Bonus!

I was able to incorporate this ribbon yarn that I had previously decided to re-gift back to the guild raffle because the ribbon is so slippery, knots come undone…even with the second glitter yarn twist-plied with it.

My Solution: long tail cast on. I am hoping I some at the guild may have a solution on how to secure, otherwise, I suppose I could secure the tail by sewing.

I am working a 1×1 Rib, which I love because it adds cushiness.

I have so much stash yarn and sometimes I start going through it all and find odds and ends that I think might look good together and wind them up into a ball. This is one that popped up recently and having also recently learned that it was a “magic ball,” my interest was spurred to make something with it.

  • Louisa Harding Sari Ribbon (Fiber Content: 90% Nylon, 10% Metallic; Yarn Color: 5 Blue Silver; Yarn Weight: 5, Bulky)

A second stroke of good luck was encountering this pattern – Wise Hilda’s Basic Triangle Shawl; ©2010, Kate Atherley – which I would love to make with my Koigu Kersti Merino Crepe (Fiber Content: 100% Merino Wool; Yarn Colors: K4001 [Color: Celery] & K2389 [Color: Coffee]; Yarn Weight: 3, DK); I just need to work on the stripe math.
