The Things We Do For Love

The Pet Pad

Dimensions: 19 x 15 inches
Destination: PAWS/LA

Instead of working in-the-round, as in the all the previous pet pads I made, I decided to work in turning rows with – at first – the trinity stitch, but I screwed up the stitch with all the yarns I was triple and quadruple plying.

Then I switched to crochet seed stitch – better until it came to the furry/feathery yarns, where I increased the stitch count by twelve stitches. I kind of works by compensating for the thinner yarn.

That’s what happens when one uses different weight yarns. I am happy to finally have finished this pad, as it has been sitting next to my recliner until I was motivated enough to go through my stash and find my bulky weight scraps.

My goal is to donate twelve pads to PAWS/LA. I think The Things We Do For Love makes the count eleven. I have already started the twelfth: When You Really Love Someone, in crochet moss stitch, again in bulky weight yarns, which remains incomplete.

Smile On by Deee-Lite

Nothing makes me smile more than Mojo, my pet dog.

The Pet Pad

In keeping with my promise to Omar, PAWS/LA for their financial assistance with Mojo’s dental work, I decided to convert der Kommissar and Someday afghan squares into another pet pad.

Getting my stuff ready for guild this month – to donate to charity – I found all my pet pads and decided to take them to PAWS/LA myself when I get a dozen or more.

The Yarn

Mixed fibers were used, yarn scraps.
